WESTJET RETURNS TO CASCADE AEROSPACE FOR HEAVY
MAINTENANCE

Abbotsford, B.C. - Canada’s WestJet has contracted Cascade Aerospace Inc. as a
heavy maintenance provider as the growing airline's Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG)
fleet comes due for the first of its "six-year heavy checks".
Cascade is conducting the work at its heavy maintenance and modification facility in
Abbotsford, B.C., Canada and under its three year contract with WestJet expects to
complete 32 heavy checks by the end of 2010. Cascade also provides engineering
services to the airline, and previously provided heavy maintenance services to WestJet
and installed LiveTV in-flight entertainment systems on WestJet’s entire NG fleet.
"We are pleased to be re-establishing our partnership with Cascade" says Russ White,
WestJet’s Vice President, Technical Operations. WestJet accepts delivery of its 75th
aircraft, a B737-700, from Boeing today.
WestJet was founded in 1996 by a team of Calgary entrepreneurs, headed by Clive
Beddoe, as a Western Canadian regional carrier with three aircraft flying to five cities.
Today, WestJet is Canada’s leading high-value low-fare airline, offering scheduled
service to 47 destinations in Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, with
its fleet of 74 Boeing 737NG aircraft.
Cascade Aerospace Inc. is a privately owned Canadian company providing program &
fleet management, heavy maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services for
commercial and military transport aircraft. Cascade is the prime contractor in providing
full fleet management services for Canada’s fleet of C-130 aircraft Canada’s
Department of National Defence, and also provides on-going heavy maintenance
services to Alaska Airlines and others. With a reputation for excellence, Cascade
currently employs over 700 people at its state-of-the-art, eight narrow body bay facility
at the Abbotsford International Airport.
