The Cascade Aerospace Q400 Airtanker can be built solely for aerial fire control or as a multi-role airtanker where, in less than three hours, it reconfigures into the passenger, cargo or aerial fire control role.

The Q400 Airtanker is a civil-certified product that meets FAR 25 standards and Canadian Transport Canada safety requirements for the fire fighting role, which translates into certification standards that are the highest in the world.

With its very powerful PW 150A engines - over 5,000 horsepower each - the Q400 Airtanker is a spectacular performer, making it an ideal Airtanker in any terrain. As one of the fastest turboprop aircraft inthe world, its jet-like cruise speed further adds to its fire fighting excellence for the Airtanker operator.

A fleet of Conair Turbo Firecats and Cascade Q400-MR Multi-Role Airtankers are operated by Conair and Cascade's long-term customer, Direction de la Securite Civile, based at Marignane, France. Cascade Aerospace holds airworthiness responsibilities and provides life-cycle management services for both Airtanker types.

Customized Service Solutions

Being in the business of designing, building and certifying solutions for the aerial forest fire control industry for more than 30 years, Cascade Aerospace has rich and proud heritage in customizing service solutions for operators.

Cascade offers CL-215 to CL-215T engine retrofits using the "next generation" Bombardier kit and P&WC PW123AF engines, a new and improved retrofit since previous conversions took place more than 15 years ago, to convert the piston-engine CL-215 to CL-215T turbine engines. The conversion yields increased productivity and reliability, lower maintenance costs, and improved dispatch reliability.

Cascade Aerospace is the only current CL-215T conversion kit installer in the world.

Proven, certified foam injection systems forCL-215, CL-415 and other aircraft types are available from Cascade Aerospace, as well as avariety of retardant delivery systems.

As a design, certification and manufacturing organization, Cascade is experienced in the design and production of a variety of retardant delivery systems including Bell 205 and 212 and Aerospatiale AS350B1 Ecuriel, SA315B Lama, and SA330 Puma helitankers; Conair Turbo Firecat and F-27 Firefighter airtankers; and Cascade Q-400 airtankers.
