The avionics
modification applies Satcom/resource

mandates (Elementary Surveillance (ELS)

Europe. The compliance date is March 31, 2007. The kit includes
engineering data and parts to install two Honeywell TRA-67A
ARINC 718A ATC transponders.
The flight ID function is
accessed by way of the existing FMS or an optional new cockpit ATC/TCAS
Control Panel.

International Cospas-Sarsat Program plans to terminate satellite
processing of distress signals from 121.5/243 MHz emergency beacons on
Feb. 1, 2009. Operators using emergency beacons will need to switch to
those operating at 406 MHz if they want to be detected by satellites.
